Siemens Detectors And Sensors
To ensure perfect process control, we have focussed for many years on the development of highly sensitive flame detectors.
For the supervision of yellow-burning oil flames, RAR silicon photocell detec- tors and QRB photo diode sensors are available.
For small- and medium-capacity blue- flame oil and gas burners, the QRC detector with UV diode is used.
The range of flame detectors also includes QRA detectors with UV cell, highly sensitive QRI infrared detectors, plus the ionization current principle for intermittent or continuous operation.
Sensor for combustion optimization
The range of detectors and sensors is rounded off by the QGO, an O2 sensor used for determining the residual oxygen content in flue gases.

Siemens QRC1 Flame Detector (UV Diode) for the supervision of blue- or yellow-burning oil or gas flames. Blue-flame detectors are used primarily in connection with burner controls for small-capacity burners in intermittent operation.
- The QRC1... is a compact UV-sensitive blue-flame detector with an integrated preamplifier. It is designed for frontal and lateral (90°) illumination.
- QRC1... is suited for use with following burner controls and with photoresistive detectors QRB1... - in terms of plug-in facility:
- The spectral sensitivity of the QRC1... is a maximum of approximately 300 nm so that it optimally covers the range of UV radiation of blue-burning oil or gas flames.
- Since the QRC1... also detects UV fractions of the radiation spectrum of other luminous sources (from boiler house illumination or sunlight etc.), the standard regulations for extraneous light still apply.
- The QRC1... must not detect UV radiation from ignition sparks, as otherwise lockout occurs during the prepurge time, due to extraneous light

The Siemens QRA10 UV sensor Flame Detector are used for the supervision of gas flames, yellow- or blue-burning oil flames and for ignition spark proving.
- Die-cast aluminium housing with a 1 in. mounting coupling (D) and a connection facility for cooling air. The housing of this detector has a bayonet fitting which allows it to be secured either directly to the mounting coupling or to the glass holder AGG06. The mounting coupling can be screwed to a viewing tube or to the ball head AGG07. The Pg cable gland can be removed and replaced, if some other detector cable shall be used.

Other Details:
- The detector’s UV cell is located behind a swiveling shutter at the front end of the detector tube which is flanged to the housing. A quartz glass window protects the tube and the shutter against dirt. The detector’s housing accommodates a stepper motor to drive the shutter and the electronics to control the shutter. Using the adapter AGG16.C, this flame detector can be mounted either directly on the burner, on a viewing tube or on a combustion chamber viewing hole.
